scent of bitter almonds
oh, and one more thing before I go....so I am reading a pathology chapter on nutritional disorders, and the intro goes like this: I. Malnutrition A. In affluent countries, malnutrition is found in children living below poverty level..... and then it goes on. my question is, is it an affluent country if you can characterize a big chunk of people as suffering from malnutrition because of poverty....I mean, do they not 'count' when you 'count' the affluence of a country? Sure, I know they are trying to compare this type of nutrtional disorder from third world marasmus and kwashiorkor....but I bet these same kids in the 'affluent' countries suffer from that too....I don't know, I got all pissed off and couldn't concentrate...score one for Dipti. Another fun nugglet from my studies that will undoubtedly enrich your life: Cyanide poisoning usually kills in minutes. Generalized petechial hemorrhages and a scent of bitter almonds are noted at biopsy.
Does anyone else besides me want to see the autopsy notes?
